Swing into action on one of two 18 hole, championship golf courses! "El Angel" & "El Diablo" are palm-lined, par-70's with manicured fairways and tropical vegetation, disturbed only by well-placed bunkers, undulating greens, and strategically-placed water and sand hazards. Designed to test the mettle of even the most experienced golfer, (6,899 yards) they still give the average golfer a pleasant round.

A National Golf Foundation poll concluded that the Rio Grande Valley has more playable days of golf (less than 25 days lost) per year than anywhere else in the United States. With that and the fact that the Lower Rio Grande Valley is such a closely guarded secret, you won't feel rushed at Rancho Viejo! (Course play will alternate daily and Golfers are expected to wear appropriate golf attire at all times)

Rancho Viejo is also an instructional site for the John Jacobs' Golf School. Although based in Scottsdale, Arizona, the John Jacobs Golf School at Rancho Viejo is the only site in Texas. For those that want to improve their game or those just learning to play, the John Jacobs' Golf School offers two three-day programs from from January through April.

If you just want some personal instruction, Rancho Viejo has an excellent staff, and plenty of room for you to practice on our driving range or putting and chipping greens. Group activities can also be easily accommodated since we are equipped to give clinics or put on excellent tournaments.

The excellent courses, practice and teaching facilities, locker and clubroom facilities as well as our complete pro shop make Rancho Viejo "the best golf on the Gulf."

El Angel and El Diablo complement other fine courses in the area, making the South Padre Island and the lower Rio Grande Valley area a serious alternative to better known golfing destinations.
