This old county jail with the infamous hanging tower, used only once, is still intact. It was built in 1910 and was used until a new jail was built in 1922. Also on display is an excellent collection of items from the early days in the Rio Grande Valley. Over 8000 square feet of exhibits, beginning with prehistoric Indian era through Spanish colonial settlement, ranching, law enforcement, early agriculture, and the bandit era. New and changing exhibits are always on display.
