Although golf is the major activity at Rancho Viejo Resort and Country Club, there are many other things to do.

Resacas offer plenty of scenery if you enjoy boating, canoeing, kayaking, small boat sailing or fishing.

If you don't have a boat, you don't have to miss the fun. You can board the Delta Dawn to view beautiful homes, wildlife and South Texas' tropical scenery on a trip down the Resaca del Rancho Viejo. Take the kids, or be a kid on a float trip with a cool tropical drink to a day of swimming and sunning at the Alberca Grande.

Alberca Grande, the Club's 6,000-square-foot landscaped swimming pool with a cascading waterfall and whirlpool spa is a beautiful place to relax, get some sun and "take it easy".

Two Decoralt tennis courts are available for year round play and lighted for evening play. It is easy to make arrangements for court reservations at the front desk.

A fitness room is available in the Ranchero Clubhouse offering cardiovascular equipment to keep you in shape.

Jogging around Rancho Viejo is a popular, if not a social activity here. There are approximately 15 miles of roadway, so you won't get tired of the same old beautiful views.

SWIMMING

At Rancho Viejo you can be as lively or as lazy as you want. Slip into something cool . . . Alberca Grande, the resorts 6,000-square-foot lagoon shaped swimming pool all nestled amidst the lush, tropical landscaping of palm, ebony, citrus trees and bougainvillea. With a cascading waterfall and heated whirlpool spa, it's the most beautiful place in South Texas to "take it easy".

Although the pool and whirlpool spa is available for sunning and swimming year round, our pool-side snack-shack and swim-up bar is open during Easter Week and Memorial day thru Labor day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Featuring, specialty sandwiches, grilled burgers, hot dogs and ice cream this area is great for a relaxing day or a special party. Soft drinks, cocktails, beer and specialty frozen drinks are also available. The Alberca Grande, an ideal spot for soaking up the sun, and your favorite beverage is located near the Casa Grande and Conference Center and is open throughout the year, by request.

TENNIS

Decoralt tennis courts, lighted for evening play are conveniently located across from the registration building, and are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. You can make arrangements for play through the Front Desk at the Administration Building.

FITNESS ROOM

Our fitness room will help you stay in top physical shape. It includes cardiovascular and strength training equipment and is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

THE GOLF SHOP AND MARGARITA'S BOUTIQUE

The golf shop offers a full selection of golf accessories, pro-line equipment and sundries, while the boutique presents fashions from South of the Border, as well as today's contemporary designs. Located next to the Front Desk, the Pro Shop is open 7 a.m. to dusk (6 p.m.) daily. Margarita's Boutique located in the Pro Shop is open Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
